As some of you would probably remember, Yoshi’s Corner was the result of a joint venture between Soul and Timyoshi to build a forum for the popular fansite YoshiArt. However, a dispute between the two had led to the disaffiliation of YC while Soul made his own message board. Now, all seemed fine and good for a while, but soon activity would begin to decline. It was suggested that we start a bulletin project, to inform about board news, games, and have editorials and opinion columns. The idea was tossed around for about a year or so, until it was revived again. Now the need is greater than ever for our own site to accompany this isolated forum. Looking at site traffic over a year’s span, one can easily see a downward trend. Many of the oldbies have been busy with their own schedules lately, and the board has suffered as a result of it. From what I’ve heard, the loss of the Yoshi Lore site also had similar effects. It is evidently clear: Yoshi’s Corner needs an official site.
This is where YCNN comes in. Community moderator moot has stepped up to the plate to offer a blog site for us to do writing. Several members have been selected as writers to provide content. While we haven’t decided on what columns we will be doing, it’ll all eventually fall into place. So how will this benefit us? Well, for one, we finally have our own headquarters, and a dumping ground for more organized content. With this new site, we may also be able to attract new members to the forums. And if that doesn’t work, hey, at least we’ll have some collective works here.
Remember, Yoshi’s Corner won’t prosper without you, so remember to be an active participant in the community, whenever you can! And don’t forget to invite any Yoshi fans you know of! The more, the better!
